GOSR is seeking an experienced Grant Manager to seek to obtain $15-25 million grants to leverage an existing $125 million capital improvement program. Program areas for funding may include, but are not limited to, storm resiliency, wetlands, natural resources, marshland/coastal restoration, and ecological improvements. Responsible for seeking, writing and managing grant proposals for GOSR-related projects, tracking all grant opportunities, and submitting timely and accurate reports for all existing grant funded projects

Essential Functions

Duties include but are not limited to:  Responsible for conducting the full range of activities required to identify, prepare, submit, and manage grant proposals for community reconstruction and infrastructure projects.  Generates revenues for GOSR programs through timely submission of well-researched, well-written and well-documented grant/fundraising proposals.  The candidate must be highly organized with the ability to implement systems, and follow-up processes, able to work under pressure, use independent judgment and produce a quality work product within tight constraints.  Perform research on potential applicable grant funding prospects.  Work with other GOSR departments as needed to gather information necessary for prospective grant programs.  Develop plans to comply with all grant requirements prepared grant by grant.  Comply with all required grant reporting.  Provide stewardship, including working with other GOSR departments to provide regular written updates to management staff.  Understanding of institutional history and programs.  Make appointments with sub-recipients and GOSR staff and consultants and other prospects to discuss grant opportunities and application requirements.  Maintain current records in database and in paper files, including grant tracking and reporting.  Track statistics relevant to development and provide materials necessary for up to date stewardship.  Work with GOSR management to provide development input for all written institutional materials (including Annual Reports, sub-recipient participation).  Assist with grant projects as requested


 Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university or having worked in related discipline with a proven track record in grant writing and program development.  Must be a New York State resident or able to relocate to NYS.  Minimum of ten years’ experience with grant writing and management.  Previous experience with government entities.  Experience working in deadline-driven environments.  Able to work well in a team environment, handle multiple assignments and meet deadlines.  Able to monitor and meet grant application and reporting requirements.  Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, be proficient in research, interpreting and analyzing diverse data and possess the ability to work collaboratively and independently to achieve stated goals.
